In 2022, a fix for the intro video that won’t skip and the blank screen/non-responding process. After receiving a ton of pointless advice, I eventually found a method that worked. It doesn’t call for any system modifications or new applications.
 
 

Workaround

1.) Launch the game using Steam as usual.
 
 
2.) As soon as the splash-screen shows up (Easy Anti Cheat splash) quickly focus on another window/program (Webbrowser, Word, …) except any Steam window.
 
 
3.) Don’t let the game refocus itself by interacting with the software until the game’s intro has begun.
 
 
4.) Restart the game after waiting a few more seconds.
 
 
5.) You should be able to continue playing as normal after skipping the entrance video.
 
 
 

Possible reasons

It is unclear why this is happening because the developers haven’t found a viable solution, but there’s no doubt that the Easy Anti Cheat solution is to blame.
 
It appears as though it was unable to correctly focus itself when it first started, thus I a*sume there is a problem with binding to the HID drivers (mouse pointer usually visible when stuck at intro video).
 
 
 

Credits

That answer was not anything I came up with on my own. I spent hours hunting for a practical solution before I found one. All of the suggested solutions (such as driver updates, windows updates, exec as administrator, or my personal favorite: reinstalling Windows) did not work.
