A simple guide to completing the achievements, mostly just to explain the ones that have incorrect or misleading descriptions.

Gnumz: 100% Achievements Guide

The achievements for this game are working, however their titles and descriptions are somewhat misleading, which leads some players to believe that the achievements are broken. This simple guide explains what is actually required to get the achievements, so that players who want to complete the game 100% can do so.

Hair’s Breadth

The description says “Complete a level with only one piece of ore remaining” but that is misleading—it actually means only one warehouse health point (heart) remaining. This can be done on the first level in easy difficulty. You start with a warehouse health of 25, and there are 32 enemies. Place two non-upgraded spike traps next to each other, let them kill exactly 8 enemies (so that there are 24 left alive), then pause the game and sell all of your traps. Now unpause and let the remaining enemies walk through to your warehouse. You should win with one health point remaining.

Invisible

Again, the description is somewhat misleading. There are invisible enemies in the game, however for this achievement you just to let one enemy—any enemy—through to your warehouse while destroying all of the others. You can get this on the first level, just let one enemy through and then kill the rest of them using spike traps.

Debacle

Awarded for losing 3 times in a row. The game is so easy that this probably will not happen unless you do it on purpose. Once again, I suggest getting this out of the way on the first level; just replay the level three times in a row without building any traps. Also, make sure that you have not spent any ore to upgrade warehouse health, otherwise the warehouse might have too many health points for the enemies to take them all.

Wizard

Hard Worker

The descriptions of these two achievements are reversed. That is, you get the “Hard Worker” achievement by using 200 spells, and vice versa. You will probably get both of these naturally while playing through the first campaign.

Perfection

Awarded for upgrading a spell to the maximum level. It costs 410 ore to fully upgrade one spell, so you will have to earn at least 28 stars to afford it. I find it more effective to upgrade traps rather than spells, so I suggest that you fully upgrade one spell to get the achievement, then immediately refund the ore and spend it on trap upgrades instead.

Now that’s an upgrade!

Awarded for buying all upgrades for one of the traps. It costs 456 ore to fully upgrade one trap, so you will have to earn at least 31 stars to afford it. Trap upgrades are definitely worth it, so go ahead and spend that ore.

First Blood

Killer

Destroyer

These three achievements are awarded for destroying 1000, 5000, and 10,000 enemies respectively. It took me about 7 hours to destroy 5000 enemies. I did not bother going for 10,000 but it would probably take 12-15 hours.

To the Max

The description says “Complete all levels of any episode with 3 stars.” However you only need to complete one of the three difficulty levels. It is enough to get 3 stars on all 20 levels of the first episode on easy difficulty.

Collector

“Earn 240 stars.” Your star total is displayed at the top of the campaign selection screen. Get it up to 240 for the achievement.
