Disclaimer
An obvious disclaimer – this is a glitch. Since it is not meant to be in the game it should be used at your own risk.
I do not think it is worthy of a ban since it doesn’t do much, doesn’t break the game. Just like many skips in speedruns it is an unintentional part of the game that still has not been removed since it adds up to the fun of it. With that said – use your own judgement. (Even if you want to use the glitch, I suggest asking your teammates if they are up to it. If no – you’ll just be stuck in the rocket while others are still out fighting for their lives)
Why am I ‘advertising’ glitches?
Sharing the knowledge of glitches might prevent players being mistaken for cheating, which I have seen happening a few times. While this game doesn’t commonly have cheaters (in my experience that is), it is unsurprising that a new player or someone who swears on never using glitches might report this. And while I fully encourage not using glitches in multiplayer or when glitches break the game, I think that this glitch can add another set of skills to speedruning/grinding (if it doesn’t get patched) and/or can be great fun when messing around with your friends.
How is this helpful?
Of course, sometimes spending the extra time to mine gold or minerals while the M.U.L.E is on its merry way to you can be beneficial, but In many missions leaving Molly behind can save time – you can end the mission as soon as you get to the drop ship. That is even more so the case when it comes to grinding quick missions for an achievement, in game skins, machine events. Sure, it’s nothing game breaking since all it saves is 5 minutes – the time to get to the drop-pod and it doesn’t work in certain mission types, but having a few tricks up your dwarven sleeves can never hurt, can it?
How to: leave the M.U.L.E behind?
At the end of the mission when the M.U.L.E is called back to the dropship get to it as fast as you can (don’t leave your fellow dwarves to die though) and get onto the right side of the drop pod next to the door.
Then look down at the ledge and spam ‘A’ + ‘D’ + ‘Jump” with the wall of the dropship to your right.
After clipping through the wall move towards the middle of the drop-pod and the leaving animation should trigger.
As you can see, the M.U.L.E is outside of the drop-ship at the time of departure.

Final notes
This glitch doesn’t work on these game modes:
- On site refining – doesn’t have the M.U.L.E. And you can just walk into the drop-pod as soon as it lands.
- Point extraction – doesn’t have the M.U.L.E. And you can just walk into the drop-pod as soon as it lands.
- Salvage operation – the pod needs to power up before having the exit zone activating.. which is the same moment when the door opens and you can just walk in.
And when it comes to sharing my own opinion – I think this glitch is all right to use alone in solo missions, I think it is very fun to do when trying to get your personal records on mission speed or farming, but if used on every mission it takes away the dynamic of the game since the last part of the mission is still a part of it. So, be respectful to other dwarves and how they’d like to play the game when joining a team, and of course Rock and Stone!
