Just a small guide explaining the role of items and item functions.
Items
Items
Throughout the game you will find different weapons and items. There is no inventory or anything like that. Items are used and activated specifically during battles or special events. For example some items can be placed to trigger puzzles, some items are used automatically while taking damage like potions, etc.
This guide will also show what the items look like in game so you will know when you find them.
Coins
Pretty much what it sounds like, currency you can use to do a multitude of things. Buying items, hiring followers, buttering up bartenders etc.
Coin Bag
Sometimes people will give you coin bags, such as the armorer in aramor, these contain lots of coins.
Medallions/Tokens
There’s several different kinds of medallions in the game which all do different things.
Healing Potion
Heals during battle, when you get low or about to die. You can stock as many healing potions as you want at the merchant near the bar in the woods, for some coins.
Invisibility Potion
Invisibility potions that can make you invisible when you need to be.
Keys
There are many different kinds of keys that of course unlock things.
Tower Book Key
Found in the Tower at Greyrock it opens the chest to the Wand a very important item.
Dead body in the Woods key
Found on a dead body it opens a place with some stuff in Aramor city.
Tomb Wall Key
A very important key that can be easily overlooked hanging on the wall over a desk area in the cultist tombs in Aromar.
There’s quite a few more keys but I’m still trying to find everything so if you wanna clue me in on where to locate the different keys I will update this guide.
Ore
Iron ore you can find on the island of illiba. You will need an axe pick however which can be found near the bear caves in a work pit. Or near the beehive tree.
Ore bag
Holds your ore, you can get it from the blacksmith. You must have this to collect ore, as well as a pick.
Gem
You find a glowing gem after killing the skeleton king.
Crystal Core
An item found within the portal in aramor woods. Used as a means to get several endings.
Treasure Map
Map acquired from the barkeep for chatting her up by buying sunshine. Required for several quests.
Bee Suit
Needed to climb the bee tree in order to fight the bee and parasite.
Dreamcatcher
Needed for several quests. You can claim this by dying twice much the same way you claim the gauntlets.
Weapons/Equipment/Magic
Crossbow
When you got to join the military in Aramor you get the choice of a sword or crossbow. I suggest getting the crossbow as you can find swords in a few different spots.
Sword
You can find a sword in the tombs that are connected to the aramor graveyard. You can find the tombs among ruins down the path outside aromar. Its in a forging room.
Dagger
In the same tombs you can find a dagger in a room with a circle of chairs. Useful for throwing at people
Bolts
Ammo for the crossbow you can find these a variety of ways throughout the game. Always try and conserve bolts as they are useful against some more powerful enemies. If you are fighting a weak opponent, or one killed by other means such as sword or magic, it is a good idea to conserve bolts as they will run out.
Wand
In the Greyrock tower in a chest behind the fountain downstairs. You will need the book key in the same tower. You can learn magic from books with this.
Magic spells for wand.
Dispel – Found in the tower of greyrock in a room on the right you will need the book key
Invisibilty – From the merchant in the woods near the bar.
Heal Spell – You can get this spell from the soothsayer after opening his cell
Axe Pick
Can be found near the beehive tree in a work pit. Can also be used in battle but I didn’t find it very effective.
Hammer
Found in Illiba in a building with a man who is strung up and dead. Its in the corner of the room leaning against the wall. Can be used in combat or to smash specific things.
Slingshot
This is a weapon for Stiki you can find it in the Illiba caves among the pots and food supplies room. Without Stiki you won’t find it, he has to be in your party.
Sword Familiar
Not really an item but more of a follower. It joins your party after you defeat it. You can find it in the Illiba fortress on a statue. You have to of died before you can fight it, and if you have the gauntlet you can defeat it easily.
Gauntlet
You get this for dying twice, you will see a statue of a man in armor with a sword, below him is a platform with 3 stars. Click on the rightmost star to open the way to the Gauntlet. It can drain enemies health.
End notes
This guides a work in progress as I’m still exploring everything in this game. If anyone knows of an item I missed or wants to help out feel free. Blackpen has already made 2 really great guides on this game and I suggest using this as a reference to his guides. I’d like to categorize and index different items and triggers in this game for easy use so people don’t wonder what things do.
I will add any new items I find, and edit this as I explore more in the game. This is a really great game and I want more people to discover how good it is. The atmosphere, art and world are really imaginative and well done.
