Explanation
The Forest is downloaded in three different formats by default, each of them containing the whole game with a size of about 2GB. There are

- The Forest VR version
Usually, you only play one of these and you can remove the other ones without any negative effects to save about 4 (out of 6) GB hard drive space.
How To
Right click The Forest in your steam library
→ Manage → Browse local files
A directory opens containing subdirectories (among other files)
- TheForest_Data
- TheForest32_Data
- TheForestVR_Data
Simply delete those you are not using, depending on whether your system is 32 or 64 Bit and you are playing the VR version.
To further save space you can remove
- unused .exe files
- unused .json control config files
Revert changes
